Bygone days, Samsung launched its new mid-range chipset Exynos 9611. The company announced this SoC with the Galaxy M30s smartphone and this phone also comes with this SoC. As its name suggests that it is a successor of Exynos 9610 SoC. The Exynos 9611 brings improvements in GPU, AI and camera department. With Exynos 9610 we have already compared it, so we don’t need to compare it with Exynos 9610. Here we will compare Exynos 9611 vs Helio P70 Chipsets which also has the same CPU with different clock speed.
The Helio P70 launched in October 2018. This chipset also features the same CPU as Exynos 9611. Now it has to be seen which chipset performs better having the same CPU. Exynos 9611 vs Helio P70 CPU and GPU
Start the comparison with their CPUs. Here the newer Exynos 9611 and the older Helio P70 both have a 64 Bit Octa-Core CPU. Speaking of the CPU of Exynos 9611, it divides its CPU Cores into two groups – big cores and little core groups. Speaking of its big core group, it features 4 ARM’s Cortex-A73 Big Cores clocked at up to 2.30GHz. Whereas the small core group has 4 Cortex-A53 Little Cores running at up to 1.70GHz clock speed.
On the other hand, the Helio P70 also has eight cores divided into big and little core groups. The first big core group includes 4 ARM’s Cortex-A73 Big Cores running at up to 2.10GHz clock speed. While the small core group integrates 4 Cortex-A53 Little Cores operating t up to 2GHz clock speed.
Here both SoCs have same CPUs, but the frequency or clock speed of big cores is better of Exynos 9611, and the little cores have better clock speed in MediaTek Helio P70. So having better clock speed of big cores Exynos 9611 will have better CPU performance than the Helio P70 chipset. So in terms of CPU performance, the newer Exynos 9611 is a better chipset compared to Helio P70.
Looking at the GPU, here Exynos 9611 features Mali-G72 MP3 with unknown speed but improved speed over Exynos 9610. While the Helio P70 incorporates ARM’s Mali-G72 GPU operating at up to 900MHz clock speed.
Here the GPU is also the same of both chipsets, the GPU of MediaTek Helio P70 has 900MHz clock speed while the clock speed of Exynos 9611 is unknown, so we are unable to declare the winner.
Speaking of the manufacturing process of Exynos 9611 and Helio P70, then the newer Exynos 9611 uses the 10nm FinFET Process of the company while the Helio P70 works on the 12nm manufacturing process. Not only this, almost all the mid-range chipsets of MediaTek use the same 12nm manufacturing process while other companies use improved process technology to build their chipsets.
No doubt here the newer Exynos 9611 is a better chipset than Helio P70 in terms of energy efficiency.

Exynos 9611 vs Helio P70 Artificial Intelligence
Coming to the AI part here Exynos 9611 also has an improvement over Exynos 9610. The company told that mobile photography is now evolved with artificial intelligence. The Exynos 9611 processor is equipped with AI technology to offer the next-generation camera experiences. Integrated vision image processing unit identifies objects and environment of the scene and the advanced image processing unit uses the acquired data to fine-tune the settings such as exposure, white balance, hue, saturation, contrast, sharpness, etc. to take the higher quality photograph. The smart depth sensing allows the smartphone to take a beautiful portrait with bokeh effect with just a single camera. The Exynos 9611 processor also supports diverse multi-camera solutions such as wide, ultra-wide, and tele cameras.
While on the other side, Helio P70 is an upgrade over Helio P60 in terms of AI. The Helio P60 was the first chipset in mid-range to come with a dedicated APU engine. The Helio P70 has upgrades in AI over Helio P60, it has APU 2.0 to process all the AI tasks. Here the Exynos 9611 can’t beat the Helio P70 in terms of AI processing.
So in terms of AI processing, the Helio P70 is a much better chipset than Exynos 9611.
Exynos 9611 vs Helio P70 Other Features
Coming to the camera section of both SoCs, here the Exynos 9611 brings improvement over Exynos 9610. It has support for dual-camera same as Exynos 9610 which is 16MP + 16MP while in the case of the single-camera it has support for 24MP single camera and it is capable of going up to 64MP single camera.
On the other side, the Helio P70 got the support for dual-camera up to 20MP + 16MP and single camera up to 32MP and it is capable of going up to 48MP single camera sensor. Here usually the Helio P70 has better camera support while after upgrading the sensor, Exynos 9611 can support better single camera sensor than Helio P70 chipset.
RAM and Storage Support
Here the newer Exynos 9611 has support for LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB clocked at 1800MHz and storage type of eMMC 5.1 & UFS 2.1.
While on the other side, MediaTek Helio P70 can support LPDDR3 RAM up to 4GB clocked at 933MHz and LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB operating at up to 1800MHz clock speed. For storage, it also has support for eMMC 5.1 & UFS 2.1 based storage.
In the display section, MediaTek Helio P70 is capable of handling up to Full HD displays with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels while the Exynos 9611 supports the same WQXGA (2560×1600) displays as Exynos 9610 chipset. Here the Exynos 9611 has better display support than Helio P70.
Connectivity Features Comparison
Connectivity-wise both SoCs have the 4G LTE Modem. The Exynos 9611 is capable of capturing a maximum downloading speed of 600Mbps using LTE Cat.12 3CA and an uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13 2CA. It also integrates other connectivity features such as Dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, etc.
At the same time, MediaTek Helio P70 can achieve a maximum downloading speed of 300Mbps using LTE Cat.7 and an uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13. Other features like WiFi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio, Dual 4G VoLTE, eMBMS, Beidou, Galileo, Glonass, GPS are also included in this chipset.

Now coming to a conclusion, as you have seen in the comparison, the CPU of both chipsets is almost same, the Exynos 9611 has just slightly higher frequency while the clock speed of the GPU of Exynos 9611 is unknown, so we are unable to declare the winner here. The camera and connectivity features of Helio P70 are better while Exynos 9611 has better display support. For AI all the chipsets of MediaTek are famous, so here the Helio P70 is much better than Exynos 9611 in terms of AI.
