This year, Samsung introduced its Galaxy S10 smartphone. This phone comes in two options based processor – Exynos 9820 and Snapdragon 855. The Exynos 9820 brings many improvements over Exynos 9810 SoC. The Exynos 9820 and 9810 both are stronger chipset and perform very well. Now the company is about to launch its Galaxy Note 10 series with new Exynos 9825 chipset fabricated on 7nm LPP node.

Exynos 9825 vs Exynos 9820 CPU & GPU

CPU

Starting the comparison with their CPUs, here the Exynos 9820 features a 64-bit octa-core CPU which includes 2 custom cores running at 2.73GHz clock speed, 2 Cortex-A75 cores running at 2.31GHz while other 4 Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.95GHz clock speed. While on the other side the newer Exynos 9825 also brings an octa-core CPU based on 64-bit memory architecture which includes 2 custom cores clocked at 2.73GHz, 2 Cortex-A75 cores running at 2.4GHz clock speed and other 4 Cortex-A55 cores operating at 1.95GHz clock speed. Here the clock speed of 2 Cortex-A75 cores is slightly higher in the newer Exynos 9825 chipset while other cores are the same in both chipsets.

GPU

Moving to the GPU section, here the older Exynos 9820 features Mali G76MP12 GPU with a maximum speed of up to 702MHz while the newer Exynos 9825 also brings Mali G76MP12 GPU same as Exynos 9820. Its clock speed is unknown yet.

Manufacturing Process

Talking about their manufacturing process, the older Exynos 9820 is built using 8nm company’s LPP node while on the other hand, the newer Exynos 9825 works on 7nm LPP (EUV) process technology. Here the newer Exynos 9825 also brings improvement over older Exynos 9820 processor. It has a better manufacturing process.

Camera

Moving to the camera department, in this section the newer Exynos 9825 SoC doesn’t bring any improvements over older Exynos 9820 chipset. Both of these chipsets support up to 16MP + 16MP dual camera sensors and up to 22MP single camera sensor.

RAM & Storage

In this case, also both SoCs are the same, both chipsets support 4x LPDDR4X RAM up to 12GB at 2093MHz and UFS 3.0 & UFS 2.1 types of storage.

Display

Speaking of the display, here also both chipsets support the same display which is WQUXGA (3840×2400) and 4K UHD (4096×2160).

Exynos 9825 vs Exynos 9820 Artificial Intelligence

Apart from the CPU speed and manufacturing process, both chipsets have the same features. The newer Exynos 9825 doesn’t bring numerous improvements over Exynos 9820 process. In terms of AI, both chipsets will perform the same. Here they also have the same features. Here both chipsets feature an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) which is designed for the next generation of mobile experiences from AI-powered photography to augmented reality. The company claims that with fast and efficient AI processing, the NPU brings new possibilities for on-device AI from object recognition for optimized photos, to a suite of performance-enhancing intelligence features such as usage pattern recognition and faster app pre-loading.

Connectivity Features

As we told you both chipsets have the same features apart from CPU speed and manufacturing process. The connectivity features of both chipsets are the same. Both chipsets have Shannon 5000 Integrated LTE modem which can capture a maximum download speed of up to 2Gbps using Cat.20 3CA and an upload speed of up to 316Mbps. They also support other features like dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual VoLTE, VoWiFi, GPS, FM Radio, etc.
