Samsung recently unveiled its Exynos 9825 SoC for flagship devices. According to the company, it is the successor of Exynos 9820 chipset, but it doesn’t bring much improvements to call it the successor of Exynos 9820. It brings just a tiny improvement in its manufacturing processor along with CPU. Apart from the CPU and manufacturing process, it is the same as Exynos 9820. We have already compared it with Exynos 9820. Here we will compare Exynos 9825 vs Snapdragon 730G – a mid-range processor from Qualcomm optimized for gaming. Snapdragon 730G has the latest CPU cores with good clock speed, so we decided to compare it.

Talking about the CPU of Exynos 9825, it brings a 64-bit octa-core CPU which includes 4th gen 2 Custom M4 cores clocked at 2.73GHz, 2 ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and other 4 Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.95GHz clock speed. While on the other side, Snapdragon 730G also has 64-bit octa-core CPU which has Kryo 470 CPU cores. Speaking of Kryo 470 CPU, it includes the latest 2 Cortex-A76 Gold cores clocked at 2.2GHz while other 6 Cortex-A55 Silver cores running at 1.8GHz.

Moving to the GPU section of Exynos 9825, it got ARM Mali-G76 MP12 CPU clocked at 702MHz while Snapdragon 730G features the company’s Adreno 618 GPU. Here the GPU is also better of Exynos 9825 which delivers smooth gaming experience.
Talking about Exynos 9825, it works on the company’s 7nm LPP EUV process technology while Snapdragon 730G is fabricated on the 8nm manufacturing process. So in this section, also Exynos 9825 will perform better. It is more power-efficient than Snapdragon 730G.

In the camera department, Exynos 9825 can support up to 22MP single and dual camera up to 16MP + 16MP. In terms of recording, it can shoot videos in 8K at 30fps and 4K at 150fps.
While Snapdragon 730G got Qualcomm Spectra 350 image signal processor which is a 14-bit dual ISP. Using this ISP it is capable to support up to 22MP + 22MP dual-camera at 30fps with MFNR & ZSL while in terms of a single camera, it can support up to 36MP single camera sensor at 30fps with MFNR & ZSL. With MFNR only, it can support up to 48MP single camera and up to 192MP without MFNR & ZSL. It can record videos in 720p at 240fps, 720p up to 960fps and 1080p at 120fps.
RAM & Storage
In this section, the Exynos 9825 supports quad or 4 channel 16bit LPDDR4X RAM up to 12GB at 2093MHz while Snapdragon 730G can support dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB at 1866MHz.
In the case of storage, the Exynos 9825 supports UFS 3.0 & UFS 2.1 based storage while Snapdragon 730G supports UFS 2.1 and eMMC 5.1 based storage.
In the display section, Exynos 9825 can support WQUXGA with the resolution of up to 3840×2400 pixels and 4K UHD with a maximum resolution of 4096×2160 pixels. On the other side, Snapdragon 730G can support up to Quad HD+ displays with a resolution of up to 3360×1440 pixels.
Exynos 9825 vs Snapdragon 730G Artificial Intelligence
In this case, Snapdragon 730G got an integrated NPU with Qualcomm Hexagon 688 DSP coupled with HVX, Hexagon Tensor Accelerator, Voice Assistant and Qualcomm All-Ways Aware technology. With these optimized features, it performs very well in the mid-range segment.
On the other side, Exynos 9825 also got an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It is a flagship chipset and features more optimized features in the AI section to beat its competitor in the flagship range. Its NPU delivers the next generation of mobile experiences to the device. Connectivity-wise, the Exynos 9825 ships with Shannon 5000 Integrated LTE modem which allows it to capture a maximum download speed of 2Gbps using LTE Cat.20 and maximum upload speed of 316Mbps using LTE Cat.13.
While Snapdragon 730G got Qualcomm Snapdragon X15 LTE modem which can allow it to provide a maximum download speed of 800Mbps using LTE Cat.15 and uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13. It also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology for fast charging. While other connectivity features like Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, NFC, GPS, FM Radio, USB 3.1, USB-C, etc. are available in both chipsets.
