Helio G90 vs Snapdragon 712 CPU & GPU
Starting the comparison with CPU, speaking of MediaTek Helio G90, in this chipset you get an octa-core CPU based on 64-bit memory architecture. This CPU arrives with 2 high-performance cores and 6 efficiency cores. Its high-performance cores include 2 ARM’s Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.00GHz maximum clock speed. While its efficiency cores include 6 Cortex-A55 cores operating with a maximum clock speed of up to 2.00GHz.
At the same time, Snapdragon 712 also has eight cores based on 64bit design. It has a Kryo 360 CPU which also has two powerful cores and six efficiency cores. Its two powerful cores are Cortex-A75 with a clock speed of up to 2.00GHz and efficiency cores are Cortex-A55 running at up to 1.8GHz clock speed. Here the CPU cores and their clock speed both are better in MediaTek Helio G90. So in the case of CPU, MediaTek Helio G90 is better chipset over Snapdragon 712.
Speaking of the GPU section, in this case, the Helio G90 features ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU which works with a maximum clock speed of up to 720MHz. This GPU is paired with MediaTek’s HyperEngine game technology for the enhanced gaming experience. While on the other side, Snapdragon 712 features the company’s Adreno 616 GPU which is an upgrade over Adreno 530 and 540 but not over Mali-G76 3EEMC4. Here the GPU of Helio G90 performs well our the GPU of Snapdragon 712 because it is powerful and also combined with HyperEngine game technology which optimizes it for better performance.
Moving on to the manufacturing process, here Snapdragon 712 works on the 10nm fabrication process. While in the manufacturing process of Helio G90 and G90T, the company hasn’t done any improvement. They still working on the 12nm fabrication process. Also, they are gaming chipsets so the company should have used a better manufacturing process in these chipsets. Here the company has done a mistake. So in this section, Snapdragon 712 is ahead over Helio G90 and G90T.
Helio G90 vs Snapdragon 712 Supported Features
Talking about the camera department of MediaTek Helio G90, it features a triple ISP with which, it can support up to 64MP single camera at 22.5pfs. For the dual camera, it has support for up to 24MP + 16MP dual camera sensors. On the other hand, Snapdragon 712 has the company’s Spectra 250 image signal processor which is a 14-bit dual ISP. It can support a dual camera up to 16MP at 30fps with MFNR and ZSL. In the case of a single camera, it can support up to 32MP single camera at 30fps with MFNR and ZSL, 48MP single camera with MFNR only and up to 192MP without MFNR and ZSL.
Here the Helio G90 has support for up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM at 2133MHz while Snapdragon 712 can support up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM at 1866MHz.
