Recently MediaTek announced its Helio G series specifically for gaming smartphones by launching 2 chipsets MediaTek Helio G90 and G90T. With this series, the company wants to take the mid-range segment to the next level. In this series chipsets company has provided the strongest features to enhance gaming performance. With these two chipsets, the company will give a tight competition to Snapdragon 730 and 730G chipsets from Qualcomm. We have already compared Helio G90 with Snapdragon 730. In this article, we will compare MediaTek Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 730G chipsets and trying to find out that which chipset is better between MediaTek Helio G90T and Snapdragon 730G.

Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 730G CPU & GPU
Starting the comparison with their CPUs, first of all, talk about the CPU of Helio G90T, it has a 64-bit Octa-Core CPU which includes two ARM’s ARM Cortex-A76 Cores at a maximum speed of up to 2.05GHz and other six ARM’s Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.00GHz clock speed. On the other hand, Snapdragon 730G also features a 64-bit Octa-Core GPU which has Kryo 470 CPU. Speaking of Kryo 470 CPU, it includes 2 Cortex-A76 powerful cores running at up to 2.2GHz clock speed and other 6 Cortex-A55 at a maximum speed of up to 1.8GHz.
Here the frequency of the first 2 powerful cores is higher in MediaTek Snapdragon 730G while the other 6 cores have a higher frequency in Helio G90T chipset. In normal tasks, MediaTek Helio G90 could perform better while in heavy tasks the two powerful cores help Snapdragon 730G to perform better. But according to GeekBench 4.1, Helio G90T delivered 10 percent better results than the Snapdragon 730G.
Moving on to the GPU section, MediaTek Helio G90T ships with ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU clocked at 800MHz. This GPU is a definite upgrade over the IMG PowerVR GM 9446 present on the Helio P90. On the other side, Snapdragon 730G got the Adreno 618 GPU which operates at 500MHz. This GPU is combined with the Snapdragon Elite Gaming feature while MediaTek Helio G90T features Hyper Vision Gaming Technology. Because of these features both GPU performs better. Both MediaTek and Qualcomm have optimized these chipsets for gaming.
Speaking of their manufacturing process, Snapdragon 730G is built using an 8nm fabrication process because of which it is a much power-efficient processor. While on the other side, MediaTek is still building its processors on the 12nm fabrication process. Like Helio A22, P22, P35, P60, P65, P70, P90, Helio G90T also works on the 12nm manufacturing process because of which it is unable to beat Snapdragon 730G in power efficiency. In this case Snapdragon 730G outperforms over Helio G90T.
Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 730G Supported Features
Speaking of the camera section of Helio G90T. Its camera features are also stronger along with gaming section. The company has also focused on camera department along with gaming. This chipset got 3x ISP which let it support up to 48MP single camera sensor at 30fps. While in terms of dual camera, it can support up to 24MP + 16MP dual camera sensors at 30fps.
On the other side, talking about Snapdragon 730G, it got Spectra 350 Computer Vision Image Signal Processor which is a 14-bit Dual ISP. In terms of dual camera, it is capable to support up to 22MP dual camera sensor at 30fps with MFNR and ZSL. While in terms of a single camera it has support for a 36MP single camera sensor at 30fps with MFNR and ZSL or up to 48MP single camera sensor with MFNR only and without MFNR and ZSL it can go up to 192MP single camera sensor. There is no smartphone about to launch with the 192MP camera sensor to know how it works.
In terms of RAM support, the Helio G90T is capable to support LPDDR4X RAM up to 10GB with a maximum speed of up to 2133MHz. While Snapdragon 730G can support LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB with a maximum speed of up to 3733MHz.
In terms of storage support, the Helio G90T can support eMMC5.1 and UFS2.1 types of storage while Snapdragon 730G can support UFS2.1 type of storage.
Speaking of the display, MediaTek Helio G90T supports Full HD Plus 21:9 Displays up to 90Hz with a maximum resolution of up to 2400 x 1080px. While Snapdragon 730G can support up to Quad HD+ HDR10 displays with a maximum resolution of up to 3360 x 1440px.
Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 730G AI Capabilities
In newly launched chipsets from MediaTek, we have seen that the company is focusing on AI too seeing its trend. The all-new chipsets of MediaTek have great AI performance. Like these all chipsets, the company has also done some improvements in Helio G90T too. It features dual APU Hardware which can provide an AI Score of up to 1TMACs. It works with CPU as we as GPU for better AI performance.
On the other side, Snapdragon 730G features the company’s own 4th gen AI Engine. The Snapdragon 730G is the first chipset of 700 series to come with the Hexagon Tensor Accelerator. Both chipsets perform very well in terms of AI.
In this case, Snapdragon 730G features Snapdragon X15 LTE Modem which uses LTE Cat-15 to provide a download speed of up to 800Mbps and LTE Cat-13 to provide an upload speed of up to 150Mbps. It also has features such as Triple-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual VoLTE, VoWiFi, GPS & FM Radio, NFC, USB 3.1, USB-C, etc. For fast charging, it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology.
On the other side, MediaTek Helio G90T uses 4G LTE Cat-12 for providing a download speed of up to 600Mbps and Cat-13 for providing an uploading speed of up to 150Mbps. Other features like Dual VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, eMBMS, IMS, GPS & FM Radio, etc. are also supported in this chipset.
