MediaTek Helio P65 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 710
Taiwanese company MediaTek is known for manufacturing mobile SoC in mid-range. It launches chipsets against Qualcomm. In past years, smartphones with chipsets of MediaTek were not worth buying, but now the company is doing a great job. It provides stronger features in its mid-range chipsets.
Last year, the company introduced Helio P60 chipset which was becoming quite successful because of its many improved features. It was the first chipset in mid-range to feature a dedicated APU which was being provided in flagship chipsets but the company provided it in its mid-range chipset. It features 64-bit octa-core CPU, better GPU, better camera support and many more features.
After a short time of six months of the launch of Helio P60 chipset, the company introduced Helio P70 chipset as the successor of Helio P60 chipset. It was just a successor by its name, it doesn’t feature any improved feature to call it the successor of Helio P60. Because of which it was unable to gain popularity like Helio P60 chipset. It did not become successful like Helio P60.
After a few time of unsuccess of Helio P70, the company again introduced a new chipset Helio P65 as the successor of Helio P60 and Helio P70 chipsets. Its name suggests that it sits between Helio P60 and Helio P70 chipsets. But it is a real successor of both of these chipsets. It arrives with many improvements over Helio P60 and P70 chipsets to call it their successor.
We have already compared this chipset with Helio P60 and Helio P70 chipset, so here we are not comparing it with these chipsets. Here we will see how Helio P65 performs against Snapdragon 710 in terms of performance and will try to find out which one is better between Helio P65 and Snapdragon 710 chipset. Let’s compare MediaTek Helio P65 vs Snapdragon 710 chipsets.

Helio P65 vs Snapdragon 710 CPU & GPU
In the case of CPU, MediaTek Helio P65 got a 64-bit Octa-Core CPU which houses 2 Cortex-A75 powerful Cores clocked at 2.0GHz to handle heavy tasks and other 6 Cortex-A55 Cores to work in normal tasks. At the same time, Snapdragon 710 also got a 64-bit Octa-Core CPU which keeps Kryo 360 cores. The Kryo 360 cores include 2 Cortex-A75 Cores running at 2.0GHz and other 6 Cortex-A55 Cores operating at 1.8GHz clock speed. Here the speed of 2 Cores which are Cortex-A75 is the same in both chipsets while the clock speed of the other six cores which are Cortex-A55 is better in Helio P65 chipset compared to Snapdragon 710.
So the CPU is better of Helio P65 compared to Snapdragon 710.
In this section, MediaTek Helio P65 got the Arm Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU with a maximum frequency of 820MHz while Snapdragon 710 Adreno 616 GPU.
Speaking of their manufacturing process, here the MediaTek Helio P65 is built using the 12nm fabrication process while Snapdragon 710 works on the 10nm manufacturing process. In this case, there is a difference of 2nm in both chipsets, so Snapdragon 710 is more power-efficient over Helio P65.
Helio P65 vs Snapdragon 710 Supported Features
In the case of camera support, Snapdragon 710 got Spectra 250 ISP which can allow it to support a dual camera up to 16MP and single camera up to 25MP with MFNR and ZSL. If you can compromise with ZSL then it can go up to 48MP with MFNR. In terms of video recording, it can record videos in 4K Ultra HD at 30fps and slow-motion videos in 1080p at 120fps.
On the other hand, MediaTek Helio P65 supports 16MP + 16MP dual-camera at 30fps and single camera up to 25MP. By compromising some features, it also can go up to 48MP. In this section, both chipsets are the same, they have the same camera support.
RAM & Storage
Speaking of RAM support, Helio P65 supports both LPDDR3 and LPDDR4X RAM. It supports LPDDR3 RAM up to 4GB at 933MHz while LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB at 1800MHz. In terms of storage, it supports eMMC 5.1.
While Snapdragon 710 also supports LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB running at 1866MHz and storage type of UFS2.1 and EMMC5.1.
