MediaTek Helio P65 vs Snapdragon 712 CPU & GPU
Starting the comparison with their CPU, talking about MediaTek Helio P65, it brings a 64-bit eight-core processor which includes a combination of 2+6 CPU cores. It includes 2 Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores also operating at 2.0GHz clock speed.
While on the other side, Snapdragon 712 also got a 64-bit octa-core CPU which features Kryo 360 CPU. The Kryo 360 CPU includes 2 Cortex-A75 Gold Cores clocked at 2.3GHz and other 6 Cortex-A55 Silver Cores running at 1.7GHz clock speed. Here the first 2 powerful cores have a higher frequency in Snapdragon 712 while the other 6 cores have higher CPU frequency in Helio P65 chipset.
So in terms of CPU performance, Snapdragon 712 is a better processor than Helio P65 having a higher frequency of powerful cores because of which it will perform better than Helio P65.
Moving to the GPU section, here Snapdragon 712 got Adreno 616 GPU with a maximum clock speed of 550MHz while the Helio P65 features ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU clocked at 820MHz. In the case of GPU, the Adreno 616 GPU present on Snapdragon 712 will perform better than Mali G52 GPU of Helio P65. So in terms of GPU, again Snapdragon 712 wins having better GPU than Helio P65.
Speaking of their manufacturing process, MediaTek is still using the 12nm fabrication process to build its processors. MediaTek Helio P65 also working on the same 12nm manufacturing process. Most chipsets of MediaTek in the mid-range segment working on the same 12nm fabrication process. On the other side, Snapdragon 712 is fabricated on the 10nm manufacturing process because of which it is a more powerful and power-efficient chipset than Helio P65. So in the case of power efficiency, also Snapdragon 712 is ahead over Helio P65.
Helio P65 vs Snapdragon 712 Supported Features
Speaking of their camera department, here MediaTek Helio P65 can support a 25MP single camera at 30fps and can go up to 48MP. In the market two 48MP camera sensors are available – Sony IMX586 and Samsung GM1. It can support both of these sensors. While in terms of dual camera it got support for up to 16MP + 16MP dual camera sensors at 30fps.
On the other side, Snapdragon 712 got Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP – a 14-bit dual Image Signal Processor that can support up to 16MP dual camera sensors at 30fps with MFNR and ZSL. While in terms of a single camera, it can support up to 32MP single camera sensor at 30fps with MFNR and ZSL, up to 48MP with MFNR only and up to 192MP without MFNR and ZSL.
