Just a few time ago, Huawei was announced its Nova 5 Series smartphones in China. With the Huawei Nova 5 series, the company also announced new chipset for mid-range devices – HiSilicon Kirin 810 chipset. After a lot of use of Kirin 710 chipset in many mid-range devices the company has annnounced this new chipset. In mid-range this is the first processor to work on 7nm FinFET Process and it is second chipset of company to work on 7nm FinFET Process. Before it HiSilicon Kirin 980 was only the chipset that works on 7nm manufacturing process.
In AnTuTu Benchmarking scores this chipset beats to all chipsets in mid-range. Also in terms of AI Benchmarking scores, this chipset beats to flagship lavel chipsets. On the other side, there is another chipset from Samsung that also offers good features. Here we are going to compare HiSilicon Kirin 810 vs Exynos 9610 chipset and trying to know which one is better chipset between Kirin 810 and Exynos 9610. HiSilicon Kirin 810 vs Exynos 9610 CPU & GPU
Kirin 810: Start with CPU of Kirin 810 chipset, it has a 64-bit Octa-Cora CPU and it works on 7nm FinFET Process. The Kirin 810 chipset features 2 ARM Cortex-A76 CPU cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.27GHz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.88GHz. The Mali G52 MP6 GPU handles the GPU capabilities on the device with a clocked speed of up to 820MHz.
Exynos 9610: At the same time, the Exynos 9610 chipset also has a 64-bit Octa-Core CPU and it works on 10nm manufacturing process. The Exynos 9610 chipset features 4 ARM Cortex-A73 powerful cores with a clocked speed of up to 2.3GHz to handle heavy tasks while other 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz to work in day-to-day tasks. In terms of GPU, the Exynos 9610 has Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.
In terms of CPU & GPU the HiSilicon Kirin 810 chipset comes as a winner because it has new and powerful cores with higher clocked speed and its GPU is also new and better compared to GPU of Exynos 9610 chipset. The Kirin 810 chipset also works on 7nm FinFET Process instead of 10nm. So this chipset consumes low power compared to Exynos 9610.
HiSilicon Kirin 810 vs Exynos 9610 Supported Features
Starting with Exynos 9610 chipset, on the rear panel it can support 24MP single camera while on the front panel it also can support 24MP camera. In terms of dual camera, the Exynos 9610 chipset can support 16 + 16MP dual camera setup. It can record 4K UHD videos at 120fps, encoding and decoding with HEVC(H.265), H.264, VP9.
On other side, the details of camera of Kirin 810 chipset like video recording capabilities or camera support are unavailable still now. Here we can’t decide the winner because of unavailable details.
RAM & Storage
Speaking of HiSilicon Kirin 810 chipset, it supports up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with a clocked speed of up to 2133MHz. Also it supports UFS 2.1 storage.
At the same time the Exynos 9610 chipset also supports up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and in terms of storage it supports UFS 2.1 and eMMC 5.1 types of storage.
Talking about the connectivity features of Exynos 9610 chipset, it has LTE modem that had LTE Cat.12 3CA for download with speed of up to 600Mbps and Cat.13 2CA for upload with speed of up to 150Mbps. It also supports connectivit features such as Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth® 5.0, FM Radio.
On the other side, the connectivity features of the HiSilicon Kirin 810 chipset are not revealed by the company.
In overall comparision the HiSilicon Kirin 810 chipset performs better compared to Exynos 9610 chipset. The Kirin 810 chipset is better in terms of CPU, GPU and manufacturing process. Also some details of Kirin 810 chipset are not disclosed by the company but we can aspect that, the unvealed details of Kirin 810 chipset will also perform better compared to Exynos 9610 chipset.
