Taiwanese SoC maker company MediaTek has introduced its Helio G90 series along with Helio G90 and G90T chipsets. These chipsets are introduced for gaming as flagship-level chipsets. Both of these chipsets are powered by MediaTek’s HyperEngine game technology. According to the company’s claims, it delivers an enhanced gaming experience on smartphones. Both chipsets have Octa-Core GPUs along with ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU. Speaking of MediaTek Helio G90T, it is a higher chipset over Helio G90. Manufacturing Process

Starting the comparison with the manufacturing process, both of these chipsets, MediaTek Helio G90 and G90T work on the 12nm manufacturing process. In this section, they have no difference. In this section, both chipsets perform the same.

CPU

In the case of CPU, MediaTek Helio G90, and G90T, both have the same 64-bit Octa-Core CPU which includes 2 ARM’s Cortex-A76 Cores which other 6 Cortex-A55 Cores. The difference is in their clock speed. MediaTek Helio G90 has 2 Cortex-A76 Cores running at 2GHz+ and 6 Cortex-A55 Cores running at 2GHz. While Helio G90T has 2 ARM Cortex-A76 Cores operating at 2.05GHz+ and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 Cores operating at 2GHz. The MediaTek Helio G90T has higher CPU frequency because of which it performs better over Helio G90.

GPU

Speaking of GPU, MediaTek Helio G90 ships with ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 operating at 720MHz while Helio G90T has ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 clocked at 800MHz. Here also Helio G90T has GPU with higher frequency because of which it provides better graphics performance.

Helio G90 vs Helio G90T Camera Support

In the camera department, both chipsets, MediaTek Helio G90, and Helio G90T got the same ISP which is 3x Image Signal Processor. Speaking of MediaTek Helio G90, it supports a single camera up to 48MP at 30fps and up to 24MP + 16MP dual-camera at 30fps. At the same time, Helio G90 supports a single camera up to 64MP at 22.5fps and in terms of dual camera, it supports 24MP + 16MP dual camera sensors.

Also in terms of AI, there is no difference between both chipsets because both have 2x MediaTek APU which operates at up to 750MHz.

In terms of RAM support, MediaTek Helio G90 can support LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB operating at 2133MHz while Helio G90T can support LPDDR4X RAM up to 10GB running at 2133MHz.

In terms of storage, both chipsets support the same storage which is UFS 2.1 and eMMC 5.1.

Speaking of display support, here MediaTek Helio G90 supports 21:9 Full HD+ 60Hz displays with a maximum resolution of up to 2400 x 1080px while Helio G90T supports 90Hz displays with these same features.

Connectivity Features

Connectivity-wise both chipsets are the same. Both have the same 4G LTE Modem which uses Cat-12 for downloading and Cat-13 for uploading. Other features like eMBMS, Dual 4G VoLTE (DSDS), Global Bands, TAS 2.0, etc. are also available in both chipsets.
