Recently, SoC maker company MediaTek has launched its gaming-beast chipset series Helio G90 by launching two chipsets – Helio G90 and Helio G90T. Both are gaming-centric chipsets launched for gaming smartphones in the mid-range segment. The company has done many improvements in these chipsets to enhance the gaming experience. On AnTuTu Benchmarking scores, the Helio G90 and G90T chipsets beat Snapdragon 730 easily. Their CPU & GPU are combined with HyperEngine Game Technology to boost the mobile gaming experience.
In mid-range, these chipsets will provide great performance and gaming experience. But how they perform against Exynos 9820 – a flagship chipset from Samsung. We have no idea about this. So here we will compare MediaTek Helio G90T vs Exynos 9820 chipsets and try to find out the difference between the Helio G90T and the Exynos 9820. Let’s compare them.

Helio G90T vs Exynos 9820 CPU & GPU
Starting the comparison with CPU, here MediaTek Helio G90 got an Octa-Core CPU based on 64-bit memory architecture. Its CPU includes 2 high-performance Arm Cortex-A76 cores and 6 Cortex-A55 cores. Speaking of their speed, they can be clocked at a maximum speed of up to 2.05GHz.
On the other side, Exynos 9820 is a flagship chipset featuring two 4th generation custom CPUs, 2 Cortex-A75 cores and other 4 Cortex-A55 cores. Speaking of their speed, then the company has not shared any kind of information about their clock speed. Without their clock speed, we can’t declare the winner. But we assume that Exynos 9820 is a flagship SoC and with 2 custom CPU it can’t let Helio G90T go ahead.
Moving on to the GPU department, in this case, MediaTek Helio G90T got Arm Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU with a maximum speed of up to 800MHz. According to the company’s claims, this chipset has a 50% performance boost in its GPU. Also, it is combined with HyperEngine game technology which tunes the smartphone for the enhanced gaming experience.
While on the other hand, Exynos 9820 features ARM Mali-G76 MP12 GPU for gaming and other graphical tasks. It offers up to 40 percent improvement in performance or a 35 percent enhancement in power efficiency compared to its previous generation.
Speaking of the manufacturing process, the Exynos 9820 chipsets are built using the 8nm LPP FinFET process before of which, it is a power-efficient chipset.
While MediaTek Helio G90T is still working on the 12nm manufacturing process which is not enough for mobile gaming. It will drain the battery faster than Exynos 9820. Here in this section Exynos 9820 beats easily to Helio G90T.
Helio G90T vs Exynos 9820 Supported Features
Talking about the camera department of Helio G90T, the company has done improvements in its camera department along with CPU, GPU, and AI. This chipset got a triple Image Signal Processor which can support up to 64MP single camera at 30fps. Speaking of dual camera, it can support up to 24MP + 16MP dual-camera at 30fps also. Xiaomi and Realme are working on a 64MP camera phone so they can adopt this chipset in their upcoming smartphone. Although, Xiaomi has announced that it will bring a smartphone with this chipset.
On the other side, Exynos 9820 has support for 22MP single camera at 30fps and up to 16MP + 16MP dual camera at 30fps.
In the RAM section, the Helio G90T chipset has support for LPDDR4X RAM up to 10GB operating at 2133MHz while Exynos 9820 also supports LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB at 2133MHz.
Speaking of storage, here Helio G90T supports eMMC5.1 and UFS2.1 types of storage while Exynos 9820 has support for UFS 3.0 and UFS 2.1 based storage.
In the display section, MediaTek Helio G90T supports 21:9 Full HD Plus displays at 90Hz with a max resolution of up to 2400x1080px.
On the other side, Exynos 9820 supports WQUXGA displays with a max resolution of up to 3840x2400px or 4K Ultra HD displays with a max resolution of up to 4096x2160px.
Helio G90T vs Exynos 9820 AI Capabilities
Speaking of Helio G90T, we told you that it comes with improved AI features. Here you get dual APU in the Helio G90T chipset. With the combination of CPU, GPU and APU it is capable to provide up to 1TMACs performance for peak power and smooth gaming experience.
On the other hand, Exynos 9820 has an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) which allows the processor to perform AI-related functions seven times faster than its predecessor. The company claims that from enhancing photos to advanced AR features, the Exynos 9820 expands AI capabilities of mobile devices with its NPU.
In this section, the Helio G90T got 4G LTE Modem which uses LTE Cat-12 for providing a maximum download speed of up to 600Mbps and LTE Cat-13 for capturing a maximum uploading speed of up to 150Mbps. It also supports other features like Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, Dual 4G VoLTE, VoWi-Fi, etc.
Speaking of Exynos 9820, it has LTE-Advanced Pro Cat.20 modem that provides a maximum download speed of up to 2Gbps and uploading speed of up to 316Mbps.
