Taiwanese SoC manufacturer company MediaTek has launched the Helio G90 series for gaming smartphones by launching Helio G90 and Helio G90T chipsets. The company has introduced this series to provide a better gaming experience in the mid-range segment. To enhance, the gaming experience these chipsets feature HyperEngine Game Technology which tunes the smartphone for a better gaming experience possible at an affordable price.
The Helio G90 series features the latest CPU and GPU cores combined with ultra-fast memory and massive AI performance for a smooth experience. The CPU performance and gaming experience along with AI is improved in these chipsets. Both of these chipsets are almost the same, they have differences between camera support, RAM support and little big in clock speed of CPU & GPU.
On the other side, there is another chipset available in the mid-range segment from Kirin(Huawei) which was announced recently. This chipset also offers the strongest features in the mid-range. In AI performance it beats high-end range chipsets. If you want to know that how Helio G90T performs against Kirin 810 then keep reading this article. Here we will compare MediaTek Helio G90T vs Kirin 810 chipsets and trying to find out which one is better chipset between Helio G90 and Kirin 810. Let’s compare them.
Helio G90T vs Kirin 810 CPU & GPU
Starting the comparison with CPU, here MediaTek Helio G90 is a 64-bit octa-core chipset that divides its cores into two groups. Its first group has two powerful cores which are Cortex-A76 cores while the second group includes 6 Cortex-A55 cores. Speaking of their clock speed than the first 2 powerful cores running at 2.05GHz while other 6 efficiency cores operating at 2.00GHz clock speed.
On the other side, speaking of HiSilicon Kirin 810, it includes 2 Cortex-A76 powerful cores operating at 2.23GHz while its other 6 Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.88GHz clock speed. Here the first 2 powerful cores have a higher frequency in Kirin 810 while the other 6 efficiency cores are better in Helio G90T.
Moving on GPU section, here MediaTek Helio G90T features Mali G76 MP4 GPU with a maximum speed of up to 800MHz. While on the other side, Kirin 810 got Mali G52MP6 GPU which operates with a maximum speed of up to 850MHz. Also, the GPU of Helio G90T is combined with HyperEngine Game Technology for the better gaming experience.
Now speaking of the manufacturing process in which MediaTek is not doing any improvements for a long time. In this section, MediaTek is far behind. The company is still using the 12nm FinFET process for building its processors. MediaTek Helio G90T is also working on the 12nm FinFET process. While on the other hand HiSilicon Kirin 810 works on the 7nm manufacturing process because of which it is much power efficient compared to Helio G90T. MediaTek is saying it a gaming chipset so the company should have also improved its manufacturing process. In this case, Kirin 810 is ahead over Helio G90T.
Helio G90T vs Kirin 810 Supported Features
Moving on-the camera section, here MediaTek Helio G90T has triple ISP which can support a single camera up to 64MP at 22.5fps. While in terms of dual camera it is capable to support up to 24MP + 16MP dual camera sensors at 30fps.
On the other side, Kirin 810 has dual ISP and its camera details are not shared by the company until now. We will update you as they will available.
In this section, the Helio G90T supports LPDDR4X RAM up to 10GB operating at 2133MHz while Kirin 810 supports LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB with the same speed as Helio G90T which is 2133MHz.
In the case of storage, the Helio G90T supports eMMC5.1 and UFS2.1 types of storage while Kirin 810 supports UFS 2.1 type of storage.
Speaking of the display section, here MediaTek Helio G90T Full HD Plus, 21:9 displays at 90Hz with a maximum resolution of up to 2400x1080px. At the same time, the details of Kirin 810 regarding this are also unavailable.
Helio G90T vs Kirin 810 AI Capabilities
In terms of AI, both chipsets come with improved AI features. In the Helio G90T you get dual APU and combination of CPU, GPU and APU are capable to provide up to 1TMACs performance for peak power and smooth gaming experience.
On the other side, HiSilicon Kirin 810 features a Dual NPU which includes a whole new DaVinci architecture. The company had worked hard on this chipset. This is the first chipset in the mid-range segment to come with dual NPU. With the new DaVinci architecture, this chipset can easily beat AI chipsets like Helio P90 or Snapdragon 855 in terms of AI. In this section, the Kirin 810 performs better over Helio G90T.
In this section, MediaTek Helio G90T has 4G LTE Modem which uses LTE Cat-12 for capturing a maximum download speed of up to 600Mbps and LTE Cat-13 for providing a maximum upload speed of up to 150Mbps. It also includes other features like Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, GPS, etc.
On the other side, the company also hasn’t shared pieces of information about the modem of Kirin 810. Many details of Kirin 810 are still unavailable because of which we can’t compare those features. But we assume that the unavailable features also will give a sturdy competition to Helio G90T.
