The MediaTek just announced a new mid-range chipset Helio P65. As its name shows that it sits between Helio P60 and Helio P70. Helio P60 is the world’s first mid-range chipset to come with dedicated APU. It was announced in MWC 2018. This chipset offers so many great features so smartphone manufactures as well as buyers were happy with this chipset.
After a few time of launch of Helio P60, the company brought another chipset Helio P70 as the successor of Helio P60 chipset, but this chipset was offring nothing to call it successor of the Helio P60. Now the company announced the Helio P65 chipset with many improved features so we can call it the successor of both chipsets Helio P60 and Helio P70. We have already compared this chipset with MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. Here we are to compare MediaTek Helio P65 vs Helio P70 chipset so you can know the difference between MediaTek Helio P65 and Helio P70 chipset. Let’s compare them.
MediaTek Helio P65 vs Helio P70 CPU and GPU
Starting with the CPU, first tell you that both chipsets are build using 12nm manufacturing process, there is no any difference between the process technology of both chipsets. In terms of process technology, don’t know why Mediatek has not done any improvements in the Helio P65 chipset whereas the other chipset makers are using 7nm or 8nm in their mid-range chipsets and MediaTek is still using outdated 12nm manufacturing process.
The MediaTek Helio P65 is a 64-bit octa-core chipset. It offers 2 Cortex-A75 cores to handling heavy tasks while other 6 cores for working in normal tasks and all these cores work with a max speed of up to 2.0GHz. In terms of GPU, the MediaTek Helio P65 features Mali G52 GPU with a maximum speed of up to 800MHz. It is the same GPU that also used in HiSilicon Kirin 810 chipset.
On other hand the Helio P70 chipset is also a 64-bit octa-core chipset. It offers 4 Cortex-A73 cores and 4 Cortex A-53 cores clocked at 2.1GHz clocked speed. In terms of GPU, here you get older Mali G72 MP3 GPU with a max speed of 900MHz in the MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. The CPU of Helio P65 chipset is newer and performs better compared to CPU of Helio P70 chipset. The GPU of Helio P70 chipset has higher operating frequency but the Mali G52 is a newer and powerful GPU so it performs better compared to Mali G72 GPU. So in terms of CPU and GPU the MediaTek Helio P65 chipset comes as a winner.
MediaTek Helio P65 vs Helio P70 Supported Features
When smartphones like Redmi Note 7 Pro and Note 7S have the 48MP camera under budget-range, everyone is trying to offer that sensor in its next smartphone. So the MediaTek has offered the support of 48MP camera in the Helio P65 chipset. The MediaTek Helio P65 chipset supports 16 + 16MP dual camera also.
At the same time the MediaTek Helio P70 chipset supports 32MP single camera and 16 + 20MP dual camera. On the official page of Helio P70, it is mentioned that this chipset can capture 48MP photographs and the smartphones like Oppo F11 Pro are proving it. With the Helio P70 chipset the Oppo F11 Pro supports 48MP camera too.
RAM & Storage
In terms of RAM, the MediaTek Helio P65 chipset supports up to 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM whereas the Helio P70 chipset supports up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM.
In terms of storage, the Helio P65 chipset supports eMMC5.1 storage while the Helio P70 can support both eMMC5.1 and UFS2.1 storage.
Connectivity Features Comparison
In terms of connectivity both chipsets have the modem that uses LTE Cat.7 for download and Cat.13 for upload. Other features like Wi-Fi, Dual 4G Volte, GPS, FM Radio are same in both chipsets. The Helio P70 chipset offers an APU Engine but the details of Helio P65 are unknown that this chipset has any APU Engine or not.
We don’t confirm but the possibilities are higher the the Helio P65 doesn’t offer any APU Engine. We hope you easily understand this comparision. For more comparisions please keep visiting our website Mobiles Intro.
