Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 vs Samsung Exynos 9609
A brief time ago, Qualcomm introduced three new chipsets Snapdragon 665, 730 & 730G as successors of Snapdragon 660, 710 & 712 respectively. Speaking of Snapdragon 665, having improved features over its predecessor Snapdragon 660, it performs very well. Snapdragon 660 was the most successful mid-range chipset of Qualcomm and we have already compared it with this processor. Here we will compare Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 vs Exynos 9609 because smartphones manufacturers are adopting these chipsets in their smartphones. Xiaomi & Realme already used Snapdragon 665 in their Mi A3 and Realme 5 respectively while Motorola has adopted Exynos 9609. So we decided to compare them.

Snapdragon 665 vs Exynos 9609 CPU & GPU
Starting the comparison with the CPU of Snapdragon 665, it brings a 64-bit octa-core CPU that features the company’s Kryo 260 CPU. Explaining the Kryo 260, it includes 4 ARM’s Cortex-A73 Gold cores running at 2.00GHz and other 4 Cortex-A53 Silver cores operating at 1.80GHz clock speed. While on the other side, Samsung Exynos 9609 also got a 64-bit octa-core CPU which includes 4 ARM’s Cortex-A73 powerful cores clocked at 2.20GHz and other 4 Cortex-A53 efficiency cores running at 1.60GHz clocked speed.
Here the Exynos 9609 has a higher frequency of powerful cores while Snapdragon 665 has a higher frequency of efficiency or silver cores. So having a higher frequency of powerful cores, Exynos 9609 is a better chipset than Snapdragon 665.
Moving to their GPU section, here Snapdragon 665 features the company’s own Adreno 610 GPU while Exynos 9609 is coupled with ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. Here the GPU is also slightly better of Exynos 9609 but not huge. So in terms of GPU, again Exynos 9609 wins having a better GPU.
Speaking of their manufacturing process, then Snapdragon 665 works on the 11nm manufacturing process while Exynos 9609 is fabricated on the 10nm manufacturing process. Here also the Exynos 9609 is a more powerful and power-efficient chipset than Snapdragon 665 because of which it will consume less power than Snapdragon 665 SoC.
Snapdragon 665 vs Exynos 9609 Supported Features
Coming to their camera section, here Snapdragon 665 features the company’s Spectra 165 image signal processor – a 14 bit dual IPS that supports a dual camera up to 16MP with MFNR & ZSL at 30fps and single camera up to 25MP at 30fps with MFNR & ZSL. Although without MFNR & ZSL, it can go up to 48MP. In terms of recording, it is capable to record videos in 720p at 240fps, 1080p at 120fps and 4K UHD at 30fps.
On the other side, Exynos 9609 is capable to handle up to 24MP single and dual camera up to 16MP + 16MP. It can record videos in 4K UHD at 60fps.
RAM & Storage
In terms of RAM and storage, both chipsets are the same. Both support the same 16-bit dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB at 1866MHz and storage type of UFS 2.1 and eMMC 5.1.
In the case of display, Snapdragon 665 supports up to Full HD plus displays with a maximum resolution of 2520×1080 pixels while Exynos 9609 supports WQXGA displays with a maximum resolution of 2560×1600 pixels.

Connectivity-wise Snapdragon 665 arrives with the company’s Snapdragon X12 LTE modem that can go up to 600Mbps in downloading using LTE Cat.12 and up to 150Mbps in uploading using LTE Cat.13. It also brings support for Dual-band WiFi, Vo WiFi, Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, FM Radio, USB 3.1 and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging.
On the other side, Exynos 9609 also provides up to 600Mbps downloading speed using LTE Cat.12 and uploading speed up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13. It also got support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, etc.
