Snapdragon 665 vs Kirin 710 CPU and GPU
Starting the comparison with the CPU of Snapdragon 665, it contains an eight-core CPU named Kryo 260 CPU based on 64-bit architecture. This CPU has four high-performance and four high-efficiency cores where the high-performance cores include 4 ARM Cortex-A73 Gold Cores clocked a 2GHz while high-efficiency cores houses 4 Cortex-A53 Silver Cores operating at up to 1.8GHz clock speed.
On the other side, HiSilicon Kirin 710 also is an octa-core SoC based on 64-bit architecture. It also divides its cores into two groups – big and little cores. The big core group contains 4 ARM Cortex-A73 Big Cores clocked at 2.2GHz while the other one includes 4 Cortex-A53 Little Cores running at up to 1.7GHz clock speed. Here the clock speed of Kirin 710 is better than Snapdragon 665. Although Snapdragon 665 has a slightly better clock speed of its little cores but it is the only 100MHz.
In terms of CPU performance, the Kirin 710 is a better chipset than Snapdragon 665 because it has a higher frequency compared to the newer Snapdragon 665.

Looking at the GPU section, here Snapdragon 665 integrates the Adreno 610 GPU which is an upgrade over the Adreno 512 GPU present on Snapdragon 660. While on the other side, the Kirin 710 incorporates ARM’s Mali G51 (4 core) GPU. Here Snapdragon 665 has a better GPU compared to the Kirin 710. Snapdragon 665 has better GPU performance like gaming and other graphical tasks compared to the Kirin 710.
So in the case of GPU, Snapdragon 665 is a better chipset than the Kirin 710. For gaming, you should go ahead with the newer Snapdragon 665 SoC.
Comparing their manufacturing process, here the newer Snapdragon 665 is designed at the 11nm manufacturing process while the Kirin 710 is fabricated on the 12nm manufacturing process. Here the number of the manufacturing process should be less which is in Snapdragon 665. It is built using the 11nm manufacturing process which makes it more power-efficient SoC than the Kirin 710. So in terms of power-efficiency, the newer Snapdragon 665 is a better SoC compared to HiSilicon Kirin 710.

To perform all AI tasks, Snapdragon 665 got Qualcomm Neural Processing SDK along with Hexagon 686 Processor paired with Hexagon Vector eXtensions and Qualcomm All-Ways Aware technology. The combination of all these features provides a good AI performance in the mid-range. While the Kirin 710 is more than one year old SoC and not an AI-focused SoC. So it can’t handle heavy AI tasks, it can perform only some normal AI tasks only.
So in terms of AI processing, the newer Snapdragon 665 wins with better AI processing compared to the Kirin 710.

Moving to their camera department where the Kirin 710 has support for up to 40MP + 24MP dual camera sensors and a single camera up to 48MP. While on the other side, Snapdragon 665 has Qualcomm Spectra 165 image signal processor which is a 14 bit dual ISP and capable to support up to 16MP dual camera at 30fps with MFNR and ZSL. Speaking of a single camera, it can handle up to 25MP single camera at 30fps with MFNR & ZSL and up to 48MP single camera without MFNR & ZSL.
RAM and Storage
Here Snapdragon 665 has support for 16 Bit Dual-Channel LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB operating at up to 1866MHz and UFS 2.1 type of storage.
On the other side, Kirin 710 supports Dual-Channel 32 Bit LPDDR3 7 LPDDR4 RAM up to 10GB and eMMC 5.1 based storage.
In this section, Snapdragon 665 has support for up to FHD+(2520×1080) displays while the Kirin 710 also supports up to Full HD+(2340×1080) displays.

In the connectivity section, Snapdragon 665 ships with the Snapdragon X12 LTE modem which can provide a maximum downloading speed of up to 600Mbps using LTE Cat.12 and an uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13. For fast charging, it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It also supports other features like Dual-band WiFi, VoWiFi, Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, FM Radio, USB 3.1, etc.
