Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 vs Snapdragon 710 Comparison

Snapdragon 665 vs Snapdragon 710 CPU and GPU
Starting the comparison with the CPU of Snapdragon 665, it houses an octa-core CPU based on 64-bit architecture having Kryo 260 CPU cores. Speaking of Kryo 260 CPU it includes eight-cores which are 4 ARM Cortex-A73 Gold Cores clocked at 2.00GHz and other 4 Cortex-A53 Silver cores operating at 1.80GHz clock speed. While on the other side, Snapdragon 710 also has a 64-bit octa-core CPU having Kryo 360 CPU cores. The Kryo 360 CPU also has eight-cores which are 2 ARM Cortex-A75 Gold cores clocked at 2.2GHz and other 6 Cortex-A55 Silver cores running at 1.7GHz.
Here in terms of CPU, Snapdragon 710 is a better processor than Snapdragon 665 because it has better CPU cores Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55 instead of Cortex-A73 and Cortex-A53. The CPU frequency is also higher of Snapdragon 710 so it is a much better chipset than Snapdragon 665.
Moving to their GPU section, here Snapdragon 665 got the company’s Adreno 610 GPU while Snapdragon 710 integrates Adreno 616 GPU with a peak frequency of 500MHz. Speaking of their manufacturing process, here the Snapdragon 665 is built using the 11nm fabrication process while Snapdragon 710 is fabricated on the 10nm manufacturing process. So in the case of the manufacturing process, also the Snapdragon 710 is the winner over Snapdragon 665. It is a more power-efficient and powerful processor than Snapdragon 665. The Snapdragon 665 is a mid-range processor while Snapdragon 710 is an upper-mid-range chipset, so it can’t let Snapdragon 665 go ahead.
The Snapdragon 665 is a mid-range processor so we can’t expect better AI performance like flagship or upper-mid-range processors. It can perform normally in AI tasks. For handling AI tasks, it got Qualcomm Hexagon 686 DSP paired with Qualcomm Hexagon Vector eXtensions and Qualcomm All-Ways Aware technology. This DSP is an upgrade over Hexagon 685 DSP present on Snapdragon 710. So having an upgraded DSP, Snapdragon 665 will handle AI tasks better than Snapdragon 710. So in the case of AI, Snapdragon 665 is a better chipset than Snapdragon 710.
Snapdragon 665 vs Snapdragon 710 Supported Features
Coming to their camera department, here the Snapdragon 665 got the company’s Spectra 165 image signal processor which is a 14-bit dual ISP and an upgrade over Spectra 160 ISP present on Snapdragon 660. Using this ISP, Snapdragon 665 is capable to support a dual camera up to 16MP at 30fps with MFNR & ZSL and a single camera up to 25MP at 30fps with MFNR & ZSL. It can go up to 48MP by compromising with MFNR & ZSL. In terms of video recording, it can record videos in 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 120fps and 720p at 240fps.
On the other hand, Snapdragon 710 ships with Qualcomm Spectra 250 image signal processor which is also a 14-bit dual ISP and can support a dual camera up to 20MP at 30fps with MFNR & ZSL and single camera up to 32MP at 30fps with MFNR & ZSL. It can support up to 48MP single camera sensor with MFNR only and up to 192MP without MFNR & ZSL. In terms of video recording, it can record videos the same as Snapdragon 665.
RAM & Storage
In this case of RAM & storage, both processors are the same. Both Snapdragon 665 and 710 supports UFS 2.1 & eMMC 5.1 based storage and Dual-Channel LPDDR4X RAM up to 8GB clocked at 1866MHz.
In this section, Snapdragon 665 can support up to Full HD+ displays with a maximum resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels while Snapdragon 710 has support for Quad HD+ displays with a maximum resolution of 3360 x 1440 pixels. Connectivity-wise, Snapdragon 710 got Qualcomm Snapdragon X15 LTE modem which uses LTE Cat.15 to capture a maximum download speed of 800Mbps and uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13. It supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4 technology for fast charging.
On the other side, Snapdragon 665 features Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 LTE modem which can provide a maximum download speed of 600Mbps using LTE Cat.12 and uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13. It supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging.
