The Snapdragon 712 chipset was launched in February 2019. The company announced this series in 2019 by launching the Snapdragon 710 chipset. It was the first chipset of this series. This company announced this series as upper mid-range series to fill the gap between the mid-range and flagship range. The performance of the Snapdragon 710 chipset is quite good and after one year of launch this chipset, the company brought Snapdragon 712 chipset as its successor.
The Snapdragon 712 comes with almost the same features, it has only overclocked CPU and GPU over the Snapdragon 710. GPU & GPU Comparison
Starting the comparison with the CPU of Snapdragon 712, it features a 64-bit octa-core Kryo 360 CPU same as the Snapdragon 710. This CPU features a combination of high-efficiency and high-performance. Its high-performance cores include 2 ARM Cortex-A75 Cores clocked at 2.3GHz while the high-efficiency cores include 6 Cortex-A55 Cores running at up to 1.7GHz clock speed.
On the other hand, the Kirin 710 also comes with a 64-bit octa-core CPU which features a combination of big & little cores. Its big cores include 4 ARM Cortex-A73 Cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz and the little cores include 4 Cortex-A53 cores operating at up to 1.7GHz clock speed.
Here the Snapdragon 712 has a better CPU than the Kirin 710 having big cores with higher frequency and little cores with the same frequency. Also, the architecture of big cores is better in the Snapdragon 712 than the Kirin 710. This is because Snapdragon 812 is a new chipset whereas the Kirin 710 is an old chipset.
