HiSilicon Kirin 1000 SoC Leaks
A couple of days back, Huawei unveiled its latest Kirin 990 series with an integrated 5G Modem as well as Da Vinci Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for the next level of Artificial Intelligence performance. This Kirin 990 SoC uses 7nm FinFET Plus EUV technology.
The Kirin 990 5G and 4G both variants will power the flagship Mate and P series as well as Honor affordable flagships.
According to latest rumor now the company has started the trial production of Kirin 1000 chipset based on 5nm process technology instead of 7nm of Kirin 990. The Kirin 1000 chipset will be commercially launched in the second half of 2020. – Source
Kirin 1000 Features
Speaking of the features of Kirin 1000 chipset, the Kirin 990 uses the Cortex-A76 CPU while the Kirin 1000 will be using the Cortex-A77 CPU architecture. It will more powerful and energy-efficient compared to the Kirin 990 SoC. However, the Kirin 990 is also much power-efficient and power chipset, but the Kirin 1000 will be more powerful than it. The Kirin 1000 will also feature two variants 4G and 5G. However, there is no any official information available from the company.
According to the tradition of the company’s previous launches, the Huawei Mate 40 series will be the first to use the new Kirin 1000 chipset.
With Kirin 990 chipset, Huawei recently launched its Mate 30 series smartphones; also the world’s second-largest smartphone maker will use the Kirin 990 5G chipset in its upcoming smartphone.
